Wha? I heard Wii Play was good! Well, we don’t get it until Feb something anyway. It’s only like $50, so pretty much you get a game for $10 after factoring the remote.

Its a bit unfair to say that the Wiis graphics are only slightly better than on the GC based only on Zelda and WiiSports, given that Zelda was mostly developed with the GC in mind. If they’d had to retool the entire game for Wii from the base up, you’d still be waiting for it to be released! Component does make a big difference over the standard composite output, though.

WiiPlay was one of the launch games here in the UK – in fact buying it was the only way of getting extra controllers. Needless to say, quite a few people ended up with two or three copies of the game. Not me though, I only have one, and to be honest it’s still in the plastic wrapper. It’s reputedly awful.

Congrats on joining the Wii owners club! It’s funny that when I meet others who bought Wiis, we always trade stories about how we got them.

You may think the IR sensor is not very accurate on the main screen (my pointer jitters a lot), but for games like Zelda and Trauma Center it’s quite good (and does not jitter), which makes me wonder why Nintendo didn’t get it right.

Twilight Princess looks much better with the component cable, but I don’t think it’s going to blow your socks off. (It’s also quite possibly the longest Zelda game I’ve ever played!)
